Situated somewhere between performance, event, action, text and occasionally object, my practice draws upon common social forms of interaction or traditional customs.
Often working in collaboration with artists or individuals from different professions; I am interested in the notion of authorship, and in exploring methods of instigating a subtle or non-confrontational form of participation.
I am drawn to the possibilities of creating shared experiences, and to investigating how notions of decadence, frivolity and the inane can assist in tackling more serious issues within my practice.
I am Co-Director of an artist-led space in Plymouth – Project Space 11 with Beth Richards and Scott Daniels, and I was selected as PVAC Associate Artist for Plymouth College of Art for 2010-11. I am also one sixth of Come to Ours - an artist driven programme of events and exhibitions, initiated to coincide with the British Art Show 7 in Plymouth.
